James Chapman
Hey to you all and welcome to Greenwood Wesley Fellowship! I am James A. Chapman and I am
the new President for this amazing organization. I have always struggled finding faith in myself and with
God; I always knew what I wanted to do with my life and how I wanted to live but I was selfish and I
began leaving God behind when I turned 16. It took me awhile to get on the right path again and if it
were not for God letting me come back in his life, I have no clue where I would be at. I still have troubles
every now and again but I know now that if I keep my head up, everything will work out.
I am a junior at Lander University where I am a theatre major with a dance minor. I have been
dancing with and choreography with the Lander Dance Company since 2007 and I was Vice-President for
the year 2007. I am a part of Alpha Psi Omega where I also hold the title of Vice-President. I have
danced and done theatre practically my entire life and it has really helped me embrace my life and
honestly, helped me keep my sanity.
I have had a rough life, going through a divorce, an abusive father, being molested for 7 years,
poverty, my mother being sick and disabled and having to live off of food stamps and housing
assistance. However, the greatest thing about it is I AM STILL HERE!!!! I am one of the strongest people
that I know besides my mother.
I plan to receive my MFA in Directing/acting and my Esthetics License when I graduate from
Lander. I also plan to open up my very own theatre/dance theatre and have a dance studio and theatre
studio one day. I also hope to have my own spa and salon so I can help others feel and look as beautiful
as they are. I plan to call all of them DREAM, because it has always been my dream to live and so what I
can with the talents that God has given me. I plan to be a professional actor, director, dancer,
choreographer and giver to man-kind.
My real Dream in life is to help people, as many people as I can. Sometimes, I aspire to be like
Oprah, just better. I am an activist, gay and lesbian supporter, pro-choice supporter, animal rights
supporter, Libertarian supporter, equal rights supporter, humanitarian supporter, AIDS fighter, child
abuse and molestation fighter, social security fighter and fighter for God. I am all of these things because
I believe in NO JUDGING because it is not my place to do so nor is it anyone else's place. I LOVE
EVERYONE and I expect others to as well.
I believe that a good person or a good Christian does not judge, hate, or treat anyone wrongly. I
believe it is man-kinds duty to help out everyone regardless. I am tired of fake Christians and it is time to
start acting like we care about one another and leave what we believe at the door and start helping one
another regardless of how different we are.
The best part about life is giving back to others and being able to just breathe and walk this
beautiful earth that God has given us is what we should be proud of. Instead of us thinking about
ourselves, let's give back and do as God intended us to do and that is to not judge, but spread our love
and our message, not just his.
Thank you all and I am so proud and thankful to be a part of this amazing organization!
President,
James Anthony Chapman
